Help with setting up MS Outlook 2003 for a pop3 email fasthosts.co.uk address.?

I have inputted all the relevant pop3 and smtp data, correct email/password and the outgoing server port for my AOL broadband. It will recieve but not send email. Just tells me to check the email address! Very confused!!! Please help.

Hi I had a similar problem and solved it by doing the following in outlook express


TOOLS......ACCOUNTS.......SERVER TAB


Make sure there is a tick in MY SERVER REQUIRES AUTHORISATION then click the settings tab by the side of this box and OUTGOING MAIL SERVER box will open ,make sure there is a mark beside the USE SAME SETTINGS AS INCOMING SERVER

Reply:Do you have the right ports enable? Sometimes depending of your NAT, you might have to do port forwarding on your router. If you do not know what is a NAT, most likely your router if you have one is set up on nominal settings.





Do you have a personal Firewall installed on your computer? You have to enable the mail ports so they can be used.





And last, maybe is stupid question but.... is your computer plugged in and connected to the internet via Wireless or RJ45 network cable?
