I'm trying to get rid of an email address from my yahoo mail?

I have an email address from someone I used to know on my yahoo mail site and I want to remove it. I pushed delete and it comes up with an error message. I tried a few times and I cant seem to remove it from my list of emails I have. How do I get rid of it?

in yahoo mail, down the left side, under trash, is contacts.


click on it.


you should have a list of your contacts pop up right beside your first list.





click on the contact you want deleted, (up top there is a delete button)


press delete.





I just deleted someone from my yahoo mail, it automatically took them off messanger too (if they were there)

Reply:Ok...I have had to do this recently too. Go into mail %26amp; be sure to look at the intricacies. You will be given the option to delete from there...also please by all means check your instant messenger address book part....and delete from BOTH the list and the underlying list as well. I thoroughly understand, as some people can via ONE IM get through and be on your list like a moth to a flame for good...they can attach themselves to you...not cool...but hey great to know! I am still in the process of deleting people for if they were ever in your mail, regular Yahoo Mail...they WILL be in the latest Messengers as well...so when it is time to clean house...then hey! Do it! *wink!

Ahh. I just looked up what the situation might be. "Yahoo! Address Book is performing routine maintenance to improve our service. During this time you cannot modify your address book. Please try again in 60 minutes."





So try again later! Good luck.
Reply:i would wait a day and c if u have the same problem. that happens to me sometimes, like it says: sorry, yahoo! mail is currently under maintenance. please check back in 60 minutes. so u can wait an hour to do it again or just wait again (if that's the message otherwise just wait a day)
Reply:I just went to my address book and there is a message up saying at this time Yahoo is doing routine maintenance and we can not modify our address, please try again in 60 minutes. Maybe that is happening to you. Update: The maintenance is finished, try now.
Reply:As a top contributor I would think you could have told us what the error message is so we could maybe work out what is wrong?!??!?!?!?
Reply:what you have to do is check on the check mark(just for the contact) box and then click delete.
Reply:go to your yahoo profile and delete it
