Cannot Receive email via Yahoo when using MS Outlook.?

When testing my Yahoo settings on Outlook I keep getting an error message re the incoming mail server as follows:

Error message: Re: Log on to incoming mail server (POP 3):

Outlook could not connect to the incoming POP3 mail server because the server did not accept your user name and password.

I also get a dialogue box appearing headed: Enter Network Password. It gives Server name: pop.mail.yahoo.com and asks for my User Name and Password. I have tried changing my settings in many ways but error message and dialogue box keeps appearing. PS: I am using TALKTALK as my ISP.

Has anyone out there got a solution for this? Many thanks in advance.

I believe you must have (Yahoo Plus), which is a premium service to allow you to do that! go to yahoo help and type in the search window, type: outlook and click search you get details on how to setup Outlook's POP %26amp; SMTP with your Yahoo account.
Reply:Go here and select the Outlook you are using for proper set up instructions.

Reply:The above answer is correct. You must have Yahoo! Plus. You cannot use a free account with Microsoft office or any other type of email service. But you can forward your Yahoo email to an email that will use it, such as gmail and configure your settings that way.
Reply:log into your yahoo mailbox, and pick the option "Mail Options", the one on Top right, not the one beside your login name.

Go to Pop Access and forwarding and select the box that says you would like to download via a mail program.

It will do some screens of confirming your settings etc, which is easy.

there you have it.

I DO NOT have yahoo Plus service, I use the free stuff, and I have no problems wih it.
