If I'm writing a complaint to a company should i send a email or letter?
I would send the letter through the mail; send it priority or certified; this way it tells the recipient that you mean business before he or she even opens the letter.
Reply:is it going to the condom factory?
Reply:Emailing it will probably give you a faster response.
Reply:It depends on how serious your complaint is. If it is something you will actively pursue, I would send a letter, certified and request a return receipt. This way you will have proof that they received any correspondance from you.

For a minor complaint, such as, the drive thru attendant got my order wrong, send an email. They will most likely send you a coupon in the mail.
Reply:Write a letter and send it cetified mail. This will always get someone's attention.
Reply:Do both. That way you know that your complaint will be read by someone.
Reply:You should probably do both and reference that you will be sending a hard copy in the mail. Make sure you have the right department or name to send the complaint to, and ask for a response by a specific date.
Reply:A letter is generally more effective than an email. It shows that you are bothered enough by the situation to take the effort to write it.

Although emails can be effective too.

A few weeks ago, I had some really bad service at an Outback restaurant. I emailed their corporate office with a detailed account of my nights events. I really didnt expect a response. I just wanted to vent. Within a day, I got a call from the manager of the restaurant I was at. She had me retell my encounter and verified it based on their computer order system. After much apologizing, she told me she would send me something to make up for it. A few days later, I received a 50 dollar gift certificate and a hand written letter of apology. I had not returned to this restaruant and not sure that I will but her effort was appreciated and I got a few peoples attention.
Reply:An e-mail and don't forget to mention that if they can't help you or do what ever you need them to do, you will be contacting the better bussiness bureau. And if they don't help you, trust me the better bussiness bureau makes them.
