What happens when I click "Save" on an email I'm writing?

I'm writing an email. There's a "Save" icon on the toolbar at the top of the page. I click it, but nothing happens. The cursor turns into an hourglass for a second but that's all that happens. What is it saving it to?

The Chat conflicts with the standalone Messenger. The Mail conflicts with Chat. Not good. Anyway whats happening is Yahoo is fiddling with Chat. Which in turn messed our account up. So what I did is leave the Chat signed out.

Hello, i'm trying to install an email server software on a Windows 2000 Server but im getting this error...

The message that i'm getting during the installation of the email server software (hMailServer) is : The hMailServer setup has detected that one or several of the TCP/IP ports 25,110 and 143 are already in use. This indicates that there already is an email server running on this computer. If you plan to use any of these ports with hMailServer, the already existing server must be stopped.





My question is, how can i stop this service or server so i can install and use the hMailServer?

Best research it out at Microsoft.com Tons of information. But in short look at what programs are install on the server and delete the one/ones that you don't need--and are communicating through the ports you mentioned.

If you no longer know what district she teaches at but you do know what state she teaches in, you can go to that state's department of education website. There you can usually type in a teacher's first and last name and find out where they are currently practicing. You can then use that information to go to the district website and look up your teacher's e-mail. Hope this helps!

You can define the Subject and Message of the email by assigning what you want to the Subj and Msg variables in the code.

Have you received the email regarding giving the 89 billion AIG ballout to the 200 M taxpayers ?

There is an email circulating titled "This guy should be president" or " This is something I would vote for" suggesting that instead of bailing out AIG for $89B we should instead divvy it up between the 200M taxpayers for a payout of $425,000.00 each. He further suggests that this would allow the economy to reset itself as the taxpayers would then invest in more real estate, etc.


Did anyone else check the math? It's actually $425.00.

Yes, I actually did the math in an answer here. What I suspect is the original idea came from someone in Great Britain. British English and the American version reverse the values for one billion and one trillion. So the math worked for them because they were using a different definition of one billion.
Reply:I am agreeing on the $425.00 figure. I do support a plan that would credit the "bailout" money to homeowners. Let us apply it to our mortgages. This would return our equity and infuse dollars into the banking system. The bank will be able to balance the "mark to market" accounting system and allow them to lend money again. No Wall Street solution needed and the taxpayer gets the windfall for once.

Technically, i mean if it is possible, Yup I think there is a way. Because email data contains your ip address and the particular time you sent it. Therefore, a reverse lookup of the email ip address would eventually lead to the ip address of the router serving your phone and then so on and so forth.





However, the beauty about these things is that even before they can start prying the phone number used during the sending of email, they have to face so many legal obstacles. Making it virtually impossible for them to trace the email back even if they can and they wanted to. =)

Reply:I had someone say they sent an item (but they never did) on eBay. You can file a dispute and eBay will act as an "in between" for you. They will give both parties an opportunity to plead their case. The seller will then have to provide proof that they sent the item, so you should be safe. Just make sure you start the process soon, because you only get a limited time after the transaction to complain...

You can create a Group within your Contacts.

Maybe you are trying to reset a lost password for your client so they can create a new one. Without details on what software you are using this question can't be answered. Otherwise, you will need a gateway of some sort to send your mail.

well go into internet explorer, and remove outlook as your default email program. setting a default email causes the email program to open when you clikc on an email adress. you probably cant send an email using a webmail program (yahoo) without logging into the program and typing in the email address.

Rocketmail is part of Yahoo Mail. You are required to have a plus account to use it in Outlook. It is set up exactly the same as Yahoo Mail except the entire email address is the Yahoo ID.





In order to use a separate email program, such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, or Thunderbird, with Yahoo Mail you need to pay for Yahoo Mail Plus. It is also required when you try to transfer the mail using smtp or pop3 to another online email. When you do you can set the servers as follows:

Open up a command prompt, and use telnet to connect to a SMTP server of your choice. Usually the port number is 25. Once the server responds, type something like:

You have to make sure you don't make any typos, the "delete" key doesn't work when you're working over telnet. In any case, this is an overly bothersome way to send an email. Probably every single email program out there supports SMTP, and they are much easier to use. Most email servers, if they allow SMTP, will have detailed instructions for you if you want to set up your email program that way.





With telnet, most servers have restrictions and won't let you send email unless you've logged in, you have an IP address that's part of their network, sending to and from addresses in their network, etc.





Yahoo no longer supports SMTP for their free accounts, and MSN uses an HTTP server which also doesn't work for free accounts.

I need to change the default template of ONLY one profile and not the other. This is being used with an outside program that sends a file using "send to email" option and opens a blank email with the file attached. Why is it on my MS Outlook, when i send an email the spell check........?

.......does a check in English US even though under Options, Spelling, it is set to English UK?


Before the email is sent, for each word it thinks is wrong I do have the option through a drop down list to select English UK but this comes up for each word and is a pain. Mostly there isn't a difference in spelling, but there are some really obvious words that are spelt differently by US to UK.


This is not Outlook Express, this is just normal Outlook.


Any advice appreciated, but before someone states the obvious, I'll say it.......maybe I should just learn to spell??

Outlook uses MS Word as your e-mail writing application, which means that MS Word is set to US.





Now what you need to do, is open MS Word, Click on Tools -%26gt; Language -%26gt; Set Language.





Click on English - UK -%26gt; then click on the default button at the bottom.





Then OK

try pressing the insert button on your keyboard. you might have toggled it to type over the next letter instead of inserting a new letter.

Alright, so I need to email a lady back about an internship. It's a formal letter, so I don't want to address her by her first name.








I don't know if she is single, or married, or what.





Let's say her name is Stacy Jenkins.





So, would i use Mrs., Ms., or Miss Jenkins to reply to the email.





I know Miss is used if you're single, Mrs. if you're married, and Ms. if you're divorced, or a widow, but what if you don't know. Then which one do you use.

Reply:Ms. is used by a wider group - not only divorced or widowed women, both of whom can still use Mrs. if they wish.





Ms. is the more neutral option - it came into wide use as a corresponding term for Mr. (the male term, which does not change according to the marital status).





So in business, using Ms. is always safe %26amp; politically acceptable, unless your correspondent has signed her letter/email using Miss or Mrs. You don't have that situation, but in that case she has indicated her preferred form of address and you should use it.

I'm having trouble with Outlook formatting my entire document with whatever I select (Bold, Italics, even bulleting!) For example, if I have a several lines of text (with paragraph returns) and I want to bullet a couple of lines in there. I highlight the lines, and hit the Bullet icon. Then the ENTIRE document (even empty paragraph returns) are bulleted. If I hit undo, then Outlook removes the bullets except for the line that I had highlighted in the first place. It's almost like a universal formatting that I can't get rid of. Can anyone help me?

Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Java script to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history. Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send receive delete or move mail. It's not just Vista either it's happening to some of us on XP. in word, in the Edit menu, choose past special, and choose unformatted text.

I don't know why it happens, but sometimes I've typed for several mintues -- or an hour -- and I hit return or something and a whole paragraph -- or almost the whole email -- disappears! I can't figure out how to get it back and it's driving me crazy!

Maybe you accidentally highlighted them all before hitting the return key? The next time that happens, try right-clicking in the text box and clicking on "Undo" if it's valid.





Alternatively, get Gmail. They auto-save whatever you're typing every few seconds or so, once you pause typing for a bit.

I used to be able to choose whether my original letter would be attached or not. I chose not to have it attached. Now when I answer someone's email mine or their original letter is on the reply letter. I can't find the option to change this back to the way I had it.

That's pretty standard all across the Internet.





A couple of mail services did allow you to choose ---"don't include original message". Yahoo WAS one them, but I understand they are in the process of removing that option.


All accounts haven't been changed ---yet--so maybe you still have it. (as described in Tom's answer above)

First, make sure you have the latest toolbar. (See first source link for where to get it.)





In the toolbar for Firefox, I don't believe there are any settings you need to turn on mail notification, but you may need to have the Yahoo! Mail button turned on.





In Internet Explorer, you definitely need the button showing.





On the tool bar click on the settings icon (the pencil near the left side) and select Personal Settings -%26gt; Add/Edit Buttons.. to edit your buttons.





Internet Explorer also requires and additional option be set. Click on the settings button (the same pencil) and choose Toolbar Options. Make sure "Show an alert on my Mail Button when I have new Yahoo! Mail" is checked. When you have mail, the button will have a star on it with the number of new messages.





I've noticed that Internet Explorer tends to update the mail notification more often than Firefox does, but that might be all in my head!

regardless of the model, Tmobile puts a limit of 300 kb per pic message i would check with verizon to see what their limit is. you also want to check the phone's memory if you are not able to send ANY messages anymore.

Compose a new email. enter the email address Underneath subject there is Attach File, click there, and it will ask you to browse for the attachment, select the folder that you saved it, and click on the image that you want to attach.





Then write the content as normal, and then click send.

1. Press the "Mail Center" button.


2. Press the "Write Mail" button.


3. Press the "Insert a Picture" button. This button is located on the right side of the message toolbar and appears as a small camera icon.


4. Press the "Insert Pictures" button. The "Insert Pictures in Mail" dialog window will then appear.


5. Left click the "My Computer", "My Pictures on AOL" or "Pictures I've Recieved" tab to locate the desired picture(s).


6. Select your picture(s) by using the checkbox next to the thumbnail of the image, then press the "Insert" button.


7. Select either the "Optimized" or "Full" picture sending option

I have the same problem, I believe it's a maintannence going on.
Reply:I had the same problem. This site below works as a temporary measure. It is a no-frills (and ad-free) yahoo site. At least you will be able to access your Inbox for anything urgent and when Yahoo finally fix whatever is causing the blank screen you can access the rest.

Sign people up to subscription lists like Yahoo Groups or listservs, that gives them a legitimate method of opting out.
Reply:We did ours by building a document (Word or PDF or ... whatever) and maintaining a membership list in our Outlook Contacts (you could do it in your Google contacts or your Yahoo! contacts or Outlook Express to keep it segregated from your personal contacts...) then doing a "mass emailing" with the file attached.

Reply:let him know you are interested in the school and particularly the soccer program and let him know you would like more information so you can set up a form of communication before you try to get him to recruit.
